I love to be outside....(I think I've mentioned that before :) When I'm weeding, watering or whatever I need to do in my yard to keep it maintained, I take that opportunity to get some exercise. I'm mindful of how I move my body so I don't hurt myself, since I want to continue enjoying the day. I get to do squats while I weed and work my hands, wrists, arms and shoulders. I get to lift weights while picking up the compost pail, watering cans or rocks that I'm relocating. I get cardio mowing the lawn, providing a great core workout too! I get to do what I love plus the added bonus of an exercise routine!! How great is that? Do you consider yard work as a healthy way to move your body, or is it a chore?
We don't realize how much physical activity like gardening or laundry, dishes, picking up toys etc, and every other task we do in a day contributes to our well being. Our mindset on what we have achieved in a day as opposed to what we will still need to complete varies. We typically think about what we haven't done, instead, we should be patting ourselves on the back with what we have accomplished. This mindset applies to exercise as well, since we think that all of our activities and tasks don't count as exercise. I don't believe this, I believe that all my activities and tasks enhance my physical well being and my mental wellness. Take account of those moments and activities, create that positive vibe of gratitude and accomplishment, we always have items on our lists that need to be done, that never changes. Recognize how much we move in a day and how much our bodies accomplish and rejoice that your body moves for you to complete your tasks and enjoy your life.
I SEE YOU, I HEAR YOU, YOU ARE IMPORTANT!
