When we are out in the garden it's good to be mindful of our posture and to breathe.
Remember to tighten your core to help maintain stability while completing the various tasks in our yards. Keeping your core tight will help with your strength and protect your muscles from strains. Also, it’s a good idea to vary your tasks to avoid fatigue while you work, doing some weeding, then move to watering or trimming. Sometimes I have laundry that I’m doing too that keeps me moving, changing positions and using various muscles. Breathing deeply helps the muscles receive the energy they need to keep working. Most of us are shallow breathers so when you remember, take a deep breath that fills your whole abdomen. I like to breathe deeply a few times before I go back to the tasks. I can feel the tension release from my shoulders and body and then I go back to my day. I’m more mindful about my posture and breath and now consciously incorporate in my day. Happy Gardening!
