When we sweep parts of our life under the carpet.

​Many of us feel that if we look at parts of our life,  it will be difficult to manage all those emotions and memories.  We hold guilt, shame, anger frustration, pent up tears, past hurts, and wrong doings.  We think that by acknowledging these emotions that we may not be able to stop crying, stop hurting, stop feeling the way we feel and we don’t want to acknowledge all the crappy stuff that happened.

This holds us back from being the person we wish to be, because our past experiences, has gathered and we’ve tucked it under a carpet in hopes it will go away.  It doesn’t, the lump under the carpet becomes a tripping hazard in our life.  It’s a hazard by keeping our limiting beliefs under the surface, it pops up when we least expect it or we hold fear of it spilling out all over everything, makes it spill out.  This then brings up all the old feelings of guilt, shame, anger, regret.  We get the broom and sweep it into a pile and cover it up in the intention of out of sight out of mind, until something triggers it's appearance, yet again.

How do we actually let go of the swept up parts of our life that we don't want.  When we pull the carpet back and look at the pile of emotions that we buried.  When we look and recognize  the pile is real, it starts the process of letting go.  When we analyze what the stuff is, it continues the process of letting go.  When we accept the pile, we can determine where the pile needs to be allocated in our current life. This is the steps to releasing.  ©RAAR – Recognize, Analyze, Accept, Release.

When I started my process of uncovering my baggage, the pile under the carpet, I started to have fun with it; I would take a past experience that gave me heartache, guilt, shame, etc., and ©RAAR it to let it go.  As I let one item go, it felt empowering, a weight was lifted and I could breath easier a little more.  It was such a freeing emotion, I could feel the ripples affect my being as an item was shifted to it's proper place in my life.  The freeing feelings made it easier to keep going, I wanted to do more ©RAAR of my life that was buried deep.  When one item was removed it gave way for better feelings and awareness.  I recognize those moments helped me grow and when I looked at them for what they are, part of my learning experience on this planet it got easier and easier and my feelings of ease and freeing was my push to carry on and keep going. 

 I was having fun recognizing, analyzing, accepting and releasing.  As I let go of one thing, other stuff came to the surface and I could easily release them too.  The more I looked at that pile it became smaller, my energy shifted to being more positive, lighter.  As I kept ©RAAR-ing, my  life became fuller, more meaning and much easier to manage the stressors of daily life, the pile under the carpet became smaller.

Our life can be like the closet we don't want to deal with, we open the door and hope that the items don't fall out and we pile in more.  We know it's there, nagging us to deal, when we think about cleaning it we groan.  If we keep pushing things in, it eventually spills out in emotions we don't want to expose to ourselves or others.  However, when we do clean that closet, the feeling of accomplishment, and energized, of now having a useable space. 

We seem to be afraid of our emotions and we don’t want to deal and yet we want our lives to be different, better and not the same patterns of our past.  THE ONLY WAY to ACCOMPLISH THIS is to acknowledge that we have this baggage/pile of experiences.  ©RAAR.  We will have tears and all those emotions that we bottle up, that is part of being human and having human experiences.  When we are aware, then we can make different choices in our lives to better our life in the here and now.   When we can recognize our patterns of thoughts, beliefs that have jammed us up, we start to heal.   Do you want to heal? I did and I'm extremely grateful that I choose to make changes and learn how to make positive changes, conscious changes, changed my patterns so I stopped sabotaging myself.  Life happens and now I’m able to respond better and I don’t have to sweep emotions under the carpet.

Awareness to our thoughts and patterns opens space in our life for the desires and dreams we long for in this NOW.  The baggage comes up because it wants to be managed and sorted, our emotions tell us too that this needs to happen.  Our emotions are our guidance system we are feeling beings.

I would love to know more about RAAR. I have major issues letting the past go

Hi Carmen, thanks for asking. I know we all have that problem of holding on to the past, which keeps us in a holding pattern in our now. The RAAR programme is about Recognizing our pattern/ issue/ limiting belief. Then we Analyze, learning what it is about this particular issue, the ripple affect on the whole of our life. Once we have determined that information we can Accept the past as is and then we are better able to Release the past and release the emotional baggage that goes with it.
